Dear Kristen,
Now that the sale of our house is final, I wanted to let you know how much we appreciated you as our agent. I seldom write letters like this, but you did such an exceptional job for us, that I couldn’t just let this opportunity slide by. First, I don’t think I ever told you why we chose you as our agent, so I wanted to fill you in, and second, I wanted to let you know why we are so very glad we did!
Let me start by saying that, over the years, we have worked with some very qualified, capable, and respected real estate agents in Mill Valley. Why then, would we choose an agent we had never met? There are several reasons Terry and I chose you for the sale of our Strawberry home. First, after having lived in our home for the past 5 years, we had the opportunity to witness first hand the success you have enjoyed in our little Strawberry neighborhood. As we all know, success is not an accident. We received the O’Donnell Report like clockwork. I always enjoyed reading it and looked forward the next edition. Your newsletter is full of facts and, very importantly, thoughtful, insightful information. It shows that you have spent the time and done the research to know your market. While it is true that many agents send out a newsy letter, your O’Donnell Report was absolutely professional and consistent in its format, content, and delivery. This is a point that many agents miss when they send out a little letter once in a while. The O’Donnell Report is like the New York Times. It’s there whether I need it or not, consistently. Second, we had the opportunity to see the homes you offered for sale going for record prices. Was this an accident? Coincidence? Luck? I don’t think so. Your “luck” is the result of knowing your market and delivering a product at the right price whether it is a multi-million dollar home on the bay front, or a modest fixer-upper in a little old neighborhood. Third, “the meeting.” Terry liked you, and he is a very tough customer. He is in sales himself and has very little time for “fluff.” After you met with Terry at our home, I asked him, “Well, what do you think of Kristen?” He thought for a minute, and said, “I like her, she’s a nice person.” Not at all what I expected to hear. I expected, “she’s ok,” “she’s a real estate agent,” or “she’s just as pretty as in her picture,” but, “I like her, she’s a nice person,” I did not expect. So, we decided Kristen O’Donnell was our agent, and now I can tell you why we are so glad we did.
The very day I called you to ask you to sell our house for us, you started working like I could not believe. You faxed the contract to me; you set up a date for an open house, scheduled a caterer, and recommended a stager. Whoa, I’ve never moved that fast in my life. Good thing I had Kristen O’Donnell on my side! I was so impressed. After smoothing down my windblown feathers, I started to tell myself that this was ok, just the usual “agent stuff.” Well, Kristen, you are anything but the “usual agent!” You kept all your deadlines, thought of everything, met with me whenever I needed help, made great suggestions, recommended experts and workers, even offered to help me yourself. This is definitely above and beyond what I expected. You were absolutely professional. You were confident and took charge of every situation. You always returned my calls promptly and personally. If you had an assistant, I didn’t know about it. You were my agent, dealt with me personally, and treated me with respect, kindness, and understanding. You absolutely did it all. You were a “do it all” and “do it right the first time” person. I really cannot describe how good that made me feel. The sale of our home could have been one of the most stressful events in our lives. Instead, you made it exciting and fun. We even went on vacation when we were expected to review offers. Was this a problem? Absolutely not! You handled everything with your usual efficiency, and our house went into contract while we sunbathed in Maui, a full price offer on the first day. Wow, I only wish I had more homes to sell.
I know I have gone on and on, but I thought you should know you are very much appreciated. If you ever have a potential client that wants a reference, you are welcome to have them call me at home, my office, or on my cell phone. I will give them my time, my opinion, and any help I can offer. You can be sure, the next time I have a house to sell, you will be the first and only person I call!
Sincerely,
Lisa Reynolds |
